Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
SENDCo Staff
At Collingham Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ Primary School we have an inclusive ethos and work in partnership with children, parents and a wide variety of other agencies to provide the very best possible outcomes for pupils. At Collingham LEH special educational provision means educational provision which is additional to, or otherwise different from, the educational provision made generally for children of the child's age. Our school offers a warm and welcoming environment where learning is adapted to meet the needs of the pupils we teach. Through careful planning, prior learning and emotional wellbeing, we are able to support children enabling them to develop to their full potential whilst fostering a lifelong love of learning.

They do this by providing a free, impartial and confidential service through their website and online resources. Parents, carers, children and young people self-refer to this service by contacting them directly. Please click on this link for more information.
Complaints Procedure
Collingham Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ C of E complaints procedure is outlined in the Complaints Procedure and Complaints Policy documents that are available on the school website.
Where parents have concerns about our school’s SEND provision, they should first raise their concerns informally with the class teacher, SENDCO or headteacher. We will try to resolve the complaint informally in the first instance. If this does not resolve their concerns, parents are welcome to submit their complaint formally.
Formal complaints about SEND provision in our school should be made to the headteacher in the first instance. They will be handled in line with the school’s complaints procedure.
If the parent or carer is not satisfied with the school’s response, they can escalate the complaint.
To see a full explanation of suitable avenues for complaint, see pages 246 and 247 of the SEN Code of Practice.
Where parents are unhappy about LA and school SEND practices, the SENDCo and Headteacher would recommend the use of the Parent Partnership Service called SENDIAS, which would include access to an Independent Parental Supporter who would offer independent advice, information and support
